Givors

Givors is a town in France’s Rhône department, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. It is part of the Lyon metropolitan region and is located on the Gier River near its confluence with the Rhône River (https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Givors). Givors has a long industrial history and is well-known for its strategic location as a transportation hub, which includes two railway stations: Givors-Ville and Givors-Canal.

Givors has recently been in the news owing to considerable flooding, which has devastated parts of the town and adjacent areas. https://actu.fr/auvergne-rhone-alpes/givors_69091/inondations-a-lyon-givors-sous-les-eaux-zone-commerciale-evacuee-et-voitures-piegees//www.cnews.fr/france/2024-10-17/inondations-les-images-inquietantes-de-la-montee-des-eaux-le-long-de-lautoroute
